Kerry to meet Chinese officials for climate talks
John Kerry, the US special climate envoy, is in Shanghai to meet Chinese officials ahead of President Joe Biden’s global climate summit next week.
Mr Kerry, the first Biden administration official to visit China, is expected to meet his counterpart, Xie Zhenhua, and may also speak to senior foreign policy officials.
The meetings could pave the way for climate agreements, and see Xi Jinping, the Chinese leader, participate in Mr Biden’s summit for Earth Day.
