Help butterflies to spread their wings
People are being urged to help moths and butterflies this spring in a project that experts said could boost the mental health of those who take part.
The campaign by Butterfly Conservation aims to prevent further declines in species, and comes after research by Cumbria University found that 83 per cent of respondents took more time to notice butterflies and bees during lockdown last year.
Dr Amir Khan, a Butterfly Conservation ambassador, said: “As we head into spring, we must remember how our increased connectedness with nature during the warmer months of last year really helped us.”
The Nature for Nuture project in partnership with Dobbies Garden Centres aims to provide householders with tools and information that can help boost numbers of pollinators.
