ITV reporter threatened to ‘bang out’ interrupter

ITV has apologised after a reporter threatened to “bang out” a man who interrupted a broadcast.

Callum Watkinson, a reporter with ITV Central, shouted at a member of the public while attempting filming at Birmingham’s Centenary Square.

In footage of the incident circulated on Twitter, the reporter can be heard accusing the man of repeatedly walking into shot behind him.

Following an exchange, the reporter said: “If you get behind me again I will ----ing bang you out, understand me?”

ITV apologised in a statement released yesterday, saying: “ITV has spoken to the reporter and the matter is being dealt with internally.”
