Mel C could have spiced up her online earnings

-

Former Spice Girl Mel C was reportedly horrified to learn that some of her band memorabilia was being flogged against her knowledge on ebay. At a starting price of 99p. Presumably, it was the first part of proceedings that caused the biggest sting, though one can’t be sure.

It is unclear how she learnt of the sale, but the singer, 47, managed to reclaim “Abandoned Storage Room Job Lot, Swindon” – which included a cassette cryptically named “David Beckham” – before the bidding began.

She may be kicking herself for that now, given the recent revelation that actor Alan Rickman sold props pinched from the Harry Potter set to the tune of £17,000. Speaking on a podcast last week, Zoë Wanamaker, his co-star in the franchise, said the pair’s letter-nicking had resulted in Rickman earning thousands from one megafan, which “was brilliant”. I’m not sure how much an Adidas tracksuit that’s been gathering dust in a Swindon storage room for two decades goes for these days, but it’s worth a punt.
