UK deportation flight arrives in Zimbabwe

A deportation flight from Britain has arrived in Harare carrying 14 Zimbabwean nationals.

They were quickly put into waiting buses to go to a Covid quarantine centre where they will stay for 10 days.

Other deportations were postponed because of a coronavirus outbreak at a detention centre in the UK and multiple legal challenges due to concerns about the safety of returnees in Zimbabwe.

The Home Office says it has a right to deport foreigners who commit serious crimes after they serve their sentences.
