Record rainfall leads to 10 deaths in Tennessee

Flooding in Tennessee has left at least 10 people dead and dozens missing as record-breaking rainfall washed away homes and rural roads

Twin toddlers are among at least 15 people killed in the state, where homes were washed away, and left 30 people missing. The flooding took out roads and telephone lines, leaving families unable to contact each other.

Up to 17in (43cm) of rain fell in Humphreys County in less than 24 hours Saturday, shattering the Tennessee record for one-day rainfall by more than 3in.
