Light as a feather

A scarlet macaw checks in for the annual weigh-in at Whipsnade Zoo in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. As part of their regular check-ups, all of the 9,500 animals at the conservation zoo will have their vital statistics recorded as a way of keeping track of their health and wellbeing. The animals’ weights and measurements are recorded in a database called the Zoological Information Management System.
