THE LAYERING DRESS

There are two types of layering dress to know about this autumn: the shirt dress over trousers, and the strappy summer frock paired with a T-shirt.

The former combination works exclusively with button-fronted styles, and looks especially effective if you undo all fastenings lower than the waist to reveal that, yes, you do have great jeans on beneath.

The other technique is as simple as wearing a classic white crew, or Breton striped T-shirt underneath your favourite sundress. Whichever trick you apply, the outcome is the same: by layering up you’ll get a little more wear out of your summer dresses which, let’s face it, haven’t seen the best weather this year. CL
