THE TRANSSEASONAL SHOES
With so many trainers and sandals around, I’m now, perversely, hankering after a proper pair of shoes. Me&em’s suede block heeled sandals will add plenty of height (105mm) but, because of the chunky 30mm platform, a degree of comfort.
If you like the sandals-socksor-tights look these are a year-round investment that will go with everything.
Metallics are another multi-season buy – lovely with bare ankles, but also good with grey or navy cable tights later on.
The LK Bennett loafers are another tempting buy: bottle green patent makes a refreshing but still practical change from black, and the white piping isn’t just chic, but gives them freshness. Alternatively, cult brand Hereu’s slingbacks are a stylish and walkable update on loafers that will look as good in November as June.
