Russian model who assaulted officers to sue the police

- By Daily Telegraph Reporter

A RUSSIAN model who drunkenly attacked two police officers and bit one on the arm after being arrested has said she will sue the police.

Irina Fedotova, 36, attacked two officers who were taking her to hospital after a row at her friend’s home in South Kensington, west London.

She bit the arm of one officer, who was trying to remove her handcuffs so she could receive medical care, and later kicked a van door into another Pc who was taking her to be questioned.

Fedotova, who lives at an apartment in Belgravia, central London, worth around £2million, was also charged with assaulting Viktoria Goncharova, her friend, during the incident on Oct 29 last year, but that case was dropped.

At Westminster magistrates’ court in April, the model pleaded guilty to assaulting the officers. But she has now said she will sue police after winning an appeal to have her sentenced reduced.

She said after a hearing: “I’ll now be suing the police for pushing me around as if I was a rag doll.”

Instead of community service, Fedotova was ordered to pay a total fine of £1,000 for both counts of assaulting a police officer, plus a victim surcharge of £100, to be paid in 48 days.

A ban from entering all pubs, bars and restaurants in England and Wales has also been lifted.
