Charity’s ideas
How you can help fight global warming
♦ Plant a tree in your school, workplace or garden to reduce carbon in air.
♦ Use rainwater to water your garden.
♦ Go peat free to protect habitats that store carbon, provide homes for nature and reduce flooding.
♦ Cut carbon by making your own compost.
♦ Pull up paving slabs and grow grass or trees to reduce carbon in the air.
♦ Sow flowering plants to reverse declines in bees, butterflies and other insects.
♦ Grow flowers, or buy UK-grown flowers to reduce carbon created by buying imported bunches.
♦ Use electric gardening tools, not ones run on fossil fuels.
♦ Track the planting of flora in the RHS My Garden online tool.
♦ Eat homegrown, local and UK seasonal produce.
