Left-wing university teachers ‘affect learning’

Teaching at universities is suffering because social science academics are eight times more likely to be Left-wing than Right-wing, a leading politics professor will warn MPS today.

Matthew Goodwin, at the University of Kent, will present findings from a study to a committee evaluating legislation on freedom of speech.

Seven per cent of academics in social sciences – which include politics, law and economics – identify as conservative, while 56 per cent identify as Left-leaning.
