All shook up as no buyer found for Elvis fan club

-

The Elvis Presley Fan Club of Great Britain failed to sell at auction yesterday after bidding fell short of an estimated price of £50,000 to £100,000.

Omega Auctions said the fan club was fully functioning and has been operating for nearly 70 years. But the lot only got to £32,000.

The fan club has a membership of around 3,000 people and turnover has reached £250,000 in recent years, through online sales of CDS, vinyl LPS, books and DVDS.

Founder and current owner Todd Slaughter, 76, has suffered recent ill health and wanted to hand the baton over to a fresh owner.
