Nursery nurse ‘showed too much cleavage’
A NURSERY worker who was told she had too much cleavage on show has lost a tribunal as men with unbuttoned shirts would have been treated the same.
Latika Lawrence, 28, took offence after her manager at the Bundles of Joy daycare centre in Streatham, south London, took her to one side to warn her about her tightfitting clothing.
Staff were required to wear a uniform but there were no shirts left in her size so she wore a “figure hugging” dress that could be revealing when she moved around “showing some of her cleavage”, the panel heard.
Miss Lawrence raised a complaint about the comments two days later, and resigned from her position in May 2019.
The tribunal rejected her claims of sexual discrimination, stating the dress code was “not discriminatory between men and women”.
