Pc who hit cyclist on 999 call to get more training
A policeman who collided with a cyclist as he rushed to answer an emergency call has been cleared of driving without due care and attention.
Pc Iain Moore, 36, was driving his patrol car when he got a call that a member of the public needed first aid.
Magistrates heard that he proceeded with blue lights and sirens on but struck a cyclist in Luton, Beds, leaving him with serious injuries, in Sept 2019.
The Independent Office of Police Conduct said: “The force agreed that management action for the officer would be appropriate and proportionate, along with a development plan to complete driver refresher training.”
