Detective’s stroke of luck led to jail for drug dealer
A drug dealer has been jailed after he was spotted with more than £200,000 worth of cannabis and cocaine by an off-duty detective paddling past in his canoe.
The detective was kayaking along the Great Ouse in Brampton, Cambs, when he spotted Daniel Worrall taking two large laundry style bags from a car to put in a van. Worrall was arrested at the scene and a search of his vehicle uncovered drugs with a street value of more than £200,000.
He admitted possession with intent to supply the drugs and possession of criminal property at Peterborough Crown Court, where he was jailed for three years and four months.
