The final episode of Book of the Week, Francesca Stavrakopoulou’s study of the physical shape of a monotheistic God, often seen as shapeless and formless, but, she argues, actually with significant theological precedent as a tangible presence. Stavrakopoulou is Professor of Hebrew Bible and Ancient Religion at the University of Exeter, and in this final part, she considers the beauty of the Biblical God: “God may well have embodied praiseworthy values, but he was also staggeringly beautiful.”
