Three officers accused over stop and search
Three police officers face disciplinary proceedings after a black man was allegedly racially profiled during a stop and search. A 32-year-old man who was stopped in Lewisham, London, on May 13 last year was handcuffed and his car searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act. He complained he had been detained due to his race, and that officers failed to provide their badge numbers. The Independent Office for Police Conduct found three officers had a case to answer for gross misconduct.
