Man held after woman’s body discovered in park

A YOUNG woman found dead in a London park on the weekend has been named as 28-year-old Sabina Nessa, police have confirmed.

Ms Nessa was discovered near a community centre in Cator Park, Kidbrooke Park Road, at 5:30pm on Saturday.

Police suspect she was attacked at around 8:30pm the previous day.

A post-mortem examinatio­n was inconclusi­ve. A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been released under investigat­ion pending further enquiries.

Detectives are appealing for dog walkers and runners who may have been in the park to come forward with informatio­n.

Det Chief Insp Joe Garrity from the Metropolit­an Police’s Specialist Crime Command said: “We are working around the clock to deliver justice for the family of this young woman.”
