Dahl family to share £500m Netflix deal

The family of Roald Dahl will share in a £500 million payday after offloading the author’s works to Netflix in the streaming giant’s biggest ever rights deal. Mr Dahl’s second wife Felicity, his daughter Ophelia Magdalena Dahl, and his grandson Luke Kelly will benefit from selling the rights. Mr Kelly is the son of Mr Dahl’s daughter Tessa, an actress and novelist who is also the mother of Sophie Dahl. Netflix plans to create a host of animations, films, video games and theatre production­s.
