Hey presto! Magic Circle elects woman president

The Magic Circle has elected its first female, and youngest, president but she says more woman are getting into the world of magic.

Megan Swann, 28, whose real name is Megan Knowles-bacon, has practised magic since she was five and has been involved in the Magic Circle since she was 10,

The south-east Londoner said: “The magic world is still male dominated and there aren’t many female magicians, so there is still work to be done to encourage more women to get into magic. A few years ago I’d say people still mistook me for the assistant, but it has started to change.”
