The following official communiqué is issued here: “Major Weldon’s column has engaged and heavily defeated the rebels at Sulliodmala, two miles westward of Karavarakundu. Our casualties are believed to be nil, while theirs are unknown. The rebels dispersed to the north-east and south-east, and are being pursued. Voriankunnath Kunhamroad Hadji, who claims independent authority in East Ernad and Walluvanad, is reported to be with one of the fleeing parties.” – Reuter.
