Boy held over beach rape freed without charge
A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl in the sea in front of thousands of beach-goers has been released without charge.
The suspect was detained by police following an e-fit appeal on BBC One’s Crimewatch Live in relation to the incident that happened next to Bournemouth pier in Dorset on July 18.
Police arrested a 17-year-old boy from Warwickshire last Friday, but after being questioned, he was released without charge.
Det Insp Wayne Seymour, of Dorset Police, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we will do all we can to identify the person responsible for this despicable crime.”
