Hinckley freed Gunman who tried to assassinate Reagan

-

The man who tried to assassinate Ronald Reagan in 1981 has been granted unconditional release by a judge.

John Hinckley, 66, who was found not guilty of attempting to kill the US president due to insanity, spent three decades in a psychiatric hospital before being released to live with his mother in 2016. He said he tried to kill Reagan to impress Jodie Foster, the actor with whom he was obsessed.
