Final salute

Ben Wallace, the Defence Secretary, General Sir Nick Carter, the outgoing Chief of the Defence Staff, and Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, his successor, pay their respects at the funeral of Major General Matthew Holmes, the former head of the Royal Marines, at Winchester Cathedral. The 54-yearold was found hanged at his home in the city on Oct 2, an inquest heard on Tuesday.
