‘Bloodthirsty’ serial killer lynched by villagers

- By Anna Pujol-mazzini

A SERIAL killer of children in Kenya was killed by a mob in his home village a few days after escaping from prison, the police said yesterday.

Masten Milimo Wanjala, 20, was arrested in July and later confessed to killing 10 children across the east African country in a five-year period. He also told police he drugged his young victims and drank their blood.

Days after escaping custody, Wanjala, who the police called a “bloodthirsty vampire”, was tracked down by villagers in his home town of Bungoma and beaten to death.

“Special Service agents had been on his trail in western Kenya, but [he] was spotted by villagers in Bungoma, and beaten to death before our agents rearrested him,” Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations said on Twitter.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations was determined to ensure that the suspect faces justice in a court of law for each crime that he committed.

“However, the law of the jungle as applied by irate villagers prevailed,” the body added.
