Syringe shortfall threat to global vaccination

-

A looming shortage of more than a billion syringes could hit global Covid vaccination efforts next year.

Manufacturers and experts in the drive to share vaccines around the world – already considerably behind schedule – warn there is likely to be a drastic shortfall of the specialised syringes needed for the Pfizerbiontech jab as the global rollout accelerates next year. The figure was arrived at by modelling conducted by PATH, a US non-profit body that aims to improve public health globally.
