KATHRYN D. SULLIVAN: OMEGA
Kathryn D. Sullivan is the only person to have walked both in space and on the bottom of the ocean, 36 years apart. She actually wore a pair of Omegas (the Seamaster Planet Ocean and a Speedmaster Skywalker X-33) on her descent to Challenger Deep, 10,902m below sea level, but despite the brand’s history in space it wasn’t a clean sweep: back in 1984 a Seiko sports watch took pride of place on her wrist while she went for a walk outside the Space Shuttle Challenger mission STS-41-G. Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Co-axial Master Chronometer, £6,860; omega
