Man run over on M45 after getting out of car

A motorist who lost control of his car on the M45 got out and was struck by another vehicle, on Monday evening.

After careering off the carriageway, the driver left his grey Subaru car to get to safety but was knocked down and suffered life-changing injuries.

He was struck by a black Mercedes E220 travelling westbound near Dunchurch, Northants.

Northamptonshire Police said: “The driver of the Subaru – a 65-year-old man – was taken to University Hospital Coventry with life-changing injuries.

“Anyone with information or dashcam footage, or who witnessed this, is asked to call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.”
