Architectural vandals

-

sir – “Utter tat” architecture is invading even our finest and oldest cities (report, November 25).

The centre of historic Chester is currently suffering new buildings of no architectural merit whatsoever: brutal glass blocks which could have been designed by a 10-year-old child with a ruler and an understanding of parallel lines. This 1960s retro horror is under construction in the heart of a walled city of splendid Roman, Viking, Medieval and Victorian heritage.

If Chester is not safe from such vandalism, where is?
