RADIO 4, 9AM
♦ The scientist Stuart Russell, Professor of Computer Science and Smith-zadeh Professor in Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, is this year’s Reith Lecturer. Across his four lectures he considers the future of Artificial Intelligence and our human relationship with it. In his opening talk, he reflects on the origins of AI and our perception of it dating back to Aristotle, defines the extent of AI, articulates some of its successes and failures, and considers our fears of it – and whether these are justified.
