Father on trial over the murder of baby girl
A father has denied murdering his three-month-old baby who sustained an “appalling catalogue of inflicted injuries”, a court heard.
Christopher Easey, 31, told a 999 call handler that Eleanor was “struggling to breathe” at their home in Morton on the Hill in Norfolk, prosecutor Sally Howes QC said.
She was taken to hospital, but died on Dec 20, 2019 having sustained a “brain injury that was incompatible with life”. A post-mortem examination showed a catalogue of older injuries, Norwich Crown Court was told.
Her mother Carly, 36, who tried to conceal her pregnancy from officials, denies cruelty. The trial continues.
