A recipe for generations of marmalade makers

-

sir – I use the “lazy way” marmalade recipe designed for men and published by The Daily Telegraph in 1959 (“How to make marmalade, the old-fashioned way”, Features, January 14).

I have the original cutting, which was passed to me by my father-inlaw in the 1980s. He had used the recipe since it first appeared in the paper. Fairly recently, my daughter has also started using it.

On the back of the cutting there are pictures comparing the looks of Princess Anne, then aged nine, and of the late Queen Mary at a similar age.

sir – For years I used a pear chutney recipe cut from The Daily Telegraph. I kept it in a Delia Smith cookbook and was distraught when I lost it.

Last year, I bought a newer edition of the book in a charity shop. Inside was a copy of the chutney recipe – cut from The Daily Telegraph. Jennifer Rhodes
