Arrest after missing clubber is found safe

A 21-year-old man has been arrested for false imprisonment after a teenager who vanished after leaving a nightclub was found “safe and well” by police yesterday.

Marnie Clayton, 18, was last seen at Atik in Windsor in the early hours of Sunday. Her family had reported her missing shortly after 3am.

Officers from Thames Valley Police found the teenager in Basingstoke, Hampshire, yesterday afternoon.

The 21-year-old man from Reading was arrested in on suspicion of battery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, breach of police bail, false imprisonment and making threats to kill. He was in custody last night.
