Jockey pays penalty for Porsche’s horsepower
National Hunt jockey Sam Twistondavies has been fined £1,000 for driving carelessly on a country road near his Cotswolds home.
Magistrates at Cheltenham found that Twiston-davies, 29, of Grange Hill Farm, Naunton, drove a Porsche Cayenne without due care and attention on an unclassified road on July 11 last year. He was fined £1,000 and ordered to pay costs.
Twiston-davies, the son of trainer Nigel Twiston-davies, has ridden 470 winners in the past five seasons, with total earnings of £6.7million. One of the highlights of his career was riding the 2015 Queen Mother Champion Chase winner Dodging Bullets.
