Boris Johnson prepares to try a personalised “Boris” shirt on a visit to Bury FC, Greater Manchester, yesterday. The Prime Minister made the trip to the club’s Gigg Lane ground after the Government announced plans for reform of men’s football, including an independent regulator “to deliver financial sustainability throughout the national game”. After the club’s collapse, a fans’ group bought Gigg Lane back from administrators in February.
