Macron and Brexit

sir – It is depressing, now that Emmanuel Macron has five more years as president, that the friction between the Elysée Palace and Downing Street over Brexit will continue.

Doubtless the irony of becoming president through the ballot box, just as Brexit happened through the ballot box, will be lost on him. It is surely the height of arrogance that he feels free to punish us for honouring what was the biggest democratic vote in our history.
