Kidnap suspect arrested on suspicion of murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after police said they only had a “slim hope” that a missing mother-of-two was alive.

Katie Kenyon, 33, was last seen getting into a silver Ford Transit van with a man in her home town of Burnley at around 9.30am on Friday.

More than 60 specialist search officers from four police forces have been scouring Gisburn Forest in the Ribble Valley, north Lancashire.

Police yesterday said that a 50-yearold man who was being questioned on suspicion of kidnap had been further arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detectives are set to ask magistrates for further time to question the suspect.
