Skull remains spark hope of solving mystery

Remnants of a human skull have been found near a campsite in Japan where a seven-year-old girl disappeared more than two years ago, raising the prospect that police might be close to solving a case that had baffled authorities. Detectives are reportedly attempting to confirm if the find has any connection with Misaki Ogura, who vanished in September 2019, aged seven, shortly after arriving with her family at the campsite in Yamanashi Prefecture.

More than 1,700 police searched for her, but no trace of her was ever found.
