Head gardener Lewis Engall admires the colourful azaleas that have recently burst into life in the Japanese Garden at Compton Acres in Poole, Dorset. The garden, recognised as one of the best in Britain, features Japanese staples such as evergreen Kurume azaleas and Japanese maples.
