History repeated

An English Civil War re-enactment group at St Lawrence church in the Hampshire town of Alton commemorates the 1643 Battle of Alton between the Parliamentary forces serving Sir William Waller and the Royalists of the Earl of Crawford. The Royalist force was destroyed in a decisive defeat.
