Inquiry into hotel fire that killed couple
A fatal accident inquiry into a hotel fire where two people died will begin in August, more than four and a half years after the blaze.
Simon Midgley, 32, and his partner Richard Dyson, 38, from London, died at the five-star Cameron House Hotel near Loch Lomond on Dec 18 2017.
In January last year, Dumbarton sheriff court fined the hotel operator Cameron House Resort (Loch Lomond) £500,000 and gave Christopher O’malley, the night porter, a community payback order.
At a continued preliminary hearing yesterday, Sheriff Thomas Mccartney agreed the inquiry will begin in person at Paisley sheriff court on Aug 15.
