Schools end pandemic examination measures

GCSES and A-levels will return to normal in 2023 as the exams watchdog said it will drop Covid measures on coursework and practical tests.

Ofqual told pupils yesterday that no adjustments will be made next year to account for the pandemic’s impact.

Alterations to coursework, science practicals and fieldwork will also no longer apply next year.

Ofqual said it would “continue to monitor” Covid’s impact and evaluate the mitigations helping pupils this year, such as formulae sheets and advance information about exam topics, before finalising plans for 2023.
