Lighthouses: Building the Impossible

In the last episode of this fascinating documentary series, Rob Bell takes us to Longstone Lighthouse off the Northumberland coast, famous due to the daring 1983 rescue of stranded shipwreck survivors by the keeper’s heroic daughter, Grace Darling. Although the lighthouse is still active, nobody lives in the building nowadays – but previous occupants describe what daily life was like for keepers, including games of cricket on its tiny beach.
