Back and forth with grubs for all the family

- London SE9

SIR – We mounted a bird box on our house wall about six years ago, and this is the first time that we have had residents. A pair of blue tits is clearly raising a family – and what hardworking parents they are.

From dawn until dusk, with a short break in the middle of the day, they are constantly back and forth with beaks full of worms, grubs and other morsels. They must be exhausted, but are providing us with a huge amount of pleasure. They put many humans to shame.
