Look sharp, men!

sir – The memories came flooding back when I read the letter from Chris Yates (May 17) on cadet uniforms.

More than 25 years ago, I was Mr Yates’s Commanding Officer when he was in the Cadet Corps. Destined for the top, he passed out from Sandhurst a few years later as quite literally the “smartest” cadet of his intake. Lindsay Rooms
