Driving instructor who stalked teen avoids jail

A driving instructor became obsessed with his teenage student and created a Tiktok account dedicated to her.

Graham Mansie, 52, tried to use the dark web to get hackers to access the 17-year-old’s social media accounts last year. Mansie asked her out for drinks, told her she was his “favourite” and gave her gifts. District Judge Vanessa Lloyd sentenced him to eight weeks in jail suspended for 12 months, citing the “persistent nature” of the offending, at Bromley magistrates’ court yesterday.

Mansie, who pleaded guilty to stalking, was made subject to an indefinite restraining order, will pay £300 costs and have to wear a tag for a year.
