Kremlin’s laser weapon ‘shows invasion is failing’

Russia’s claims of a deadly new laser weapon are like the Nazis search for a “wunderwaffe”, or wonder weapon, and prove the invasion is failing, the Ukrainian president said yesterday.

Yury Borisov, Russia’s deputy prime minister, said on Wednesday that a new generation of laser weapons, which they claim can blind satellites and burn drones in five seconds, were being widely deployed in Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelensky said it showed that Russia was increasingly desperate.
