Black Sunday (1977)

Terrorists target the Super Bowl in this thriller adapted from a novel by Thomas Harris. Heading them is Bruce Dern as Lander, a Vietnam veteran, though the supporting baddies are Palestinian while the good guys are led by Robert Shaw as an Israeli commando. It’s best not to worry about the politics. Just try to relish Dern’s nuttiness and director John Frankenheimer’s flair for action.
