Rail worker inquest will reject ‘Covid spit attack’

-

The inquest into the death of Belly Mujinga, a railway worker, will disregard an alleged incident in which she was spat at by a man.

Mujinga, 47, was allegedly spat at by a man, 57, known only as “AB”, at London’s Victoria station on March 21 2020 – two days before the national lockdown. She died on April 5 2020, having been admitted to hospital days earlier with breathing difficulties.

A pre-inquest hearing yesterday heard the inquiry will instead look at whether the married mother-of-one should have been shielding at the time, due to underlying health issues. Her inquest is expected to resume June 27.
